Background
Art has been part of my life and my vocation as a landscape architect. After a 30 year career in landscape architecture, I am focusing my time and energy on art. As an artist, I enjoy many different art mediums. However, watercolor has intrigued me and challenged me the most. I am excited by the challenge of furthering my skills as a watercolor artist.

Background
Working with water and pigment creates fascinating and sometimes unpredictable results. Watercolor art can feel dreamy and mystical, or it can be photo-realistic. I am particularly drawn to painting textures. The possibilities are exciting.

My inspirations are drawn from my hikes in the woods, along shorelines, and from the local rural scenery. I especially enjoy painting weathered barns and old structures that are a ubiquitous in the rural area I live in. The history of small family farms are disappearing as these weathered structures melt into the ground. My intent is t
My inspirations are drawn from my hikes in the woods, along shorelines, and from the local rural scenery. I especially enjoy painting weathered barns and old structures that are a ubiquitous in the rural area I live in. The history of small family farms are disappearing as these weathered structures melt into the ground. My intent is to honor the past, but also to draw attention to the preciousness of open space and the environment.
