Art has been part of my life and my vocation as a landscape architect. After a 30 year career in landscape architecture, I am focusing my time and energy on art. As an artist, I enjoy many different art mediums. However, watercolor has intrigued me and challenged me the most. I am excited by the challenge of furthering my skills as a watercolor artist.
Working with water and pigment creates fascinating and sometimes unpredictable results. Watercolor art can feel dreamy and mystical, or it can be photo-realistic. I am particularly drawn to painting textures. The possibilities are exciting.
My inspirations are drawn from my hikes in the woods, along shorelines, and from the local rural scenery. I especially enjoy painting weathered barns and old structures that are a ubiquitous in the rural area I live in.
